Everything you need to know about our Charity Day on 27th February 2016
As you probably know we held a big charity event on 27th February to mark our 15th Birthday. Our challenge was to sell 1,500 portions of fish and chips (100 for every year in business) and give all the money raised to charity.
It was a long time in the planning but it was all worthwhile as we sold our of Fish and Chips by 6.00pm and raised an amazing £5,412.31 for Vranch House School in Exeter.

On 27th February we will be celebrating 15 happy years in business. We love selling Britain’s favourite food and we wanted make sure celebrated this important date in our Calendar. So we have decided to throw a big ‘party’ by selling our award winning fish and chips for only £3 per portion. Not only that but EVERY SINGLE PENNY TAKEN ON THE DAY WILL GO TO CHARITY.
Read on for everything you need to know about our special day:
When is it? 27th February 2016
What time? 11.30am until we have sold 1,500 portions of Fish and Chips
Why until 1,500 portions are sold? It’s our 15th Birthday celebration, we want to sell 100 portions for every year in business. This is over three times as many portions as we would sell on our busiest days of the year so it is quite a challenge for us.
What’s on the menu? Fish and Chips (and for the day only just Fish and Chips in one portion size and one price)
What will it cost me? Our special price for one day only is £3 but all the money is going to charity so please give us much as you can.
Is there are Prize Draw? Yes, we have some amazing prizes to win:
1. Exeter Chiefs Signed Shirt
2. Exeter Chiefs Match Day Tickets for Chiefs vs Newcastle on 12 March 2016
3. Exeter Chiefs Signed Ball
4. Exeter City Signed Ball
5. Fish and Chips for a Year
6. A VIP booth for a night at Fever & Boutique, Exmouth
7, 8 & 9. Chocolate Fish and Chips for a Family of four
How can I enter the Prize Draw? The ONLY way to enter the prize draw is to buy a portion of Fish and Chips on 27th February 2016. When you pay your details will be taken and we will inform the winners by phone or email and we will also post a list on winners on our website.
Is that all? No, there will be lots of fun to be had on the day – face painting, balloons and the Exmouth Town Crier will be doing all he can to attract attention! So if there is a bit of a queue there will be plenty to keep you entertained.
Which Charity are you supporting? All the money we raise will go to Vranch House School in Exeter. This is a unique charity that provides care, education, training and treatment for physically disabled children. The school is currently fund raising for a much needed renovation of their hydrotherapy pool, an essential tool for treatment of children with physical and painful conditions and we are delighted that ALL the money will go to this very good cause.
Will every penny taken really go to charity? Yes
How are you able to be so generous? We could not be doing this without the incredible support from our Trade suppliers – Friars Pride and the Trawler Rammi, Williams Potatoes of Exeter, Middleton Foods, T.Quality and Isle of Ely Produce who between them have donated almost all the fish, potatoes, batter, salt, vinegar and packaging that we will need to serve 1,500 portions of Fish and Chips. But most importantly ALL our staff are working for FREE on the day.
Remind me again where is it and what time does it start? 27th February 2016 Krispies Fish and Chips, 57 Exeter Road, Exmouth, Devon, EX8 1PX from 11.30am until we have sold 1,500 portions of Fish and Chips.
What’s your top tip for the day? Come early to avoid disappointment. We have had huge interest in the event and we only have 1,500 portions of fish and chips to sell so when they are gone we will be closing the shop. So if you snooze you might loose (but you can still put some spare coppers in the charity box).
