Meet the krispies Crew
What is your job title?
I am Manager at Krispies.
What does that mean?
As well as cooking the food, I order in the stock, look after the staff, and make sure everything in running smoothly. I am second in command to Tim and Kelly so if anything goes wrong it is my fault!
Where are you from?
Originally form Birmingham but have lived in Exmouth for 10 years now
Why did you come to Exmouth?
My parents moved here and I eventually followed them
How long have you been working for Krispies?
Just over nine years. I started off peeling the spuds and worked my way up from there. I never thought I would be a Manager one day. It all started as just another job and now it’s my career.
What is the best thing about your job?
I really enjoy cooking and feeding people, it gives me a real sense of satisfaction that people are going home to enjoy the food I have cooked for them. I love the team here too and in particular Tim and Kelly are both a support and an inspiration to me.
What does winning From Field to Fryer mean to you?
Winning From Field to Fryer really means a lot to me, it means that as a business we are all heading in the right direction and that my team are working well which in turn means I am doing my job well. It’s good for business too. We have been really busy ever since we won, lots of our customers have congratulated us and we have had lots of publicity which is good. It’s also great to work for an Award Winning shop.
What’s your favourite thing on Krispies menu?
Cod and Chips
Are you Battered, Traditional or Mixed
Who are your favourite sports team or band?
I support Aston Villa. I was brought up next to the ground and when I was a kid I used to hear the roar when they scored.
What is your favourite thing to do with a lazy, sunny afternoon?
I love to take my two dogs for a walk along the beach with my girlfriend my little boy.
What makes Krispies different from other take aways?
Apart from the award winning, restaurant quality food, it has to be the staff. We have a great relationship with our customers and I like to think there is a nice friendly atmosphere in the shop which is definitely something different from other take aways I have been to. We like to chat to customers if we are not too busy and generally take care of people a little bit more.
