A drum roll please for Mr & Mrs Krispie!

From a small corner shop in Exmouth to a Fish & Chip institution. It’s 25 years since Tim and Kelly Barnes (sadly, their real name isn’t Krispie) opened their first Krispies shop. Back then, it was just the two of them but now Krispies employs over 80 people in Exeter and Exmouth.

“Opening Krispies 25 years ago felt like the right thing to do for us then and it still feels like the right thing for us today.” Says Kelly, “Fish and Chips is in our blood.”

This milestone silver anniversary makes Krispies one of the longest standing businesses in Exmouth and it is also widely recognised as one of the best Fish and Chip shops in Britain, winning Fish & Chip Shop of the year in 2019. Since then, Tim and Kelly have gone on to become judges of that prestigious competition and are both highly respected as industry gurus!

“It's been quite a journey” Says Tim, “food trends and restaurants of all types have come and gone and choice has multiplied but people still want Fish and Chips. Over the years our customers have become more and more decerning but we are happy to rise to the challenge of continually raising our game to meet their expectations.”

Tim and Kelly both love what we do and you can look forward to fabulous Fish & Chips from the Barnes family for many years to come!
